Mile Road Allotment and Leisure Gardeners Association (MRALGA) aims are to protect, promote and preserve the Statutory allotment site at Mile Road, Bedford, Bedfordshire.
Currently over 325 plots
Affiliated to N.S.A.L.G.Ltd
On site we currently have:
Members Trading hut
Communal room with a wood burner and refreshment facilities. Also used for events.
An Orchard of apples and pears
Composting Toilet
Association greenhouse and growing area
We are diverse community with members from a variety of different ethnic backgrounds and ages
We aim to:
Develop a sustainable resource to promote growing our own food and improve quality of life for all. Share skills and knowledge for the benefit of the community of Bedford borough and surrounding area
Three open days a year Annual plant Sale.,National allotment week and members annual show and open day.
Enabling the local community to access the site and learn about food growing, gardening and recycling.
Members events : quiz nights, children`s Easter egg hunt and Christmas get together with Santa and his elves..
